I love their breakfast burrito. It's okay to have it for dinner. LoL. We always split it. It's huge.

I usually order from Vallarta Express through DoorDash for convenience, but since I was already in the area running errands with some extra cash, I decided to stop by in person. When I placed my order with the cashier, I noticed the price was higher than what I usually pay through the app. I always get the California Burrito Enchilado Style with a side of chips and salsa, and when the staff rang it up, the total came out to a little over $20. Since I expected to pay what I normally do, I didn't have as much on me as I thought, so I asked to remove the Enchilado Style. Even then, the price was still higher than what I typically pay online. Out of curiosity, I checked the DoorDash app afterward to make sure I wasn't mistaken, but there was indeed a price difference. Even with the added cost of Enchilado Style on the app, it was still cheaper than what I was charged in-store. It's not a huge deal, I know pricing can vary, and I wouldn't hold it against the staff since they don't set the prices. The food was still delicious, and I'll definitely keep coming back. I actually prefer this location because their salsa comes from a dispenser instead of little packets, making it taste fresher. If I decide to dine in, this spot also has a larger indoor and outdoor seating area compared to other locations. It's always spotless, which is impressive given how busy it gets. The staff is attentive, energetic, and efficient, and it's clear they genuinely enjoy their work. Having worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, I know that kind of positive environment is a direct reflection of great management and how much the team respects eachother. Honestly, I don't see why this location doesn't have a higher rating. If I could, I'd leave a five-star review every time just to help boost the recognition they deserve, that's how much I love this place. Even with the slight price difference, the quality and value of the food still make it worth it. The only reason I'm deducting one star this time is due to the inconsistency in pricing. I understand that costs fluctuate with the economy, and I wouldn't expect in-store prices to match app prices exactly, especially since delivery services have their own markups. As much as I don't want to ruin it for those who order through the app, I'm leaving this review for the sake of fairness to all customers. For the sake of consistency, I believe online and in-store pricing should remain the same for pickup orders. I'm only mentioning this as a heads-up for the business because I'd hate for someone less understanding to make a big deal over a few dollars. While I was a little bummed that I didn't get to enjoy my burrito Enchilado Style like I usually do, it was still great either way!

This place has been around forever and it never fails us. We love the breakfast burritos, as large as your arm! They changed the salsa into clear plastic packets instead of cups awhile back. The sauce is still just as good as ever!

Craving carne asada fries on 11/19/24. Around 9pm went through the drive-thru and service was very friendly. Fries were perfect this time around crispy and not too soggy. It can be hit or miss depending on who is cooking I guess. Portions of the fries, steak, guacamole, sour cream and cheese were just right. Carne asada was fresh and tender compared to the other business down the street that starts with a C. Just enough hot sauce and prefer their red salsa here than restaurant C. Sauce comes in a closed packet. Haven't been to restaurant C after always feeling sick after eating and putting up with bad service. Same business manager seems to operate these restaurants after seeing the responses to the reviews on here. Everywhere I go, a meal w/drink cost almost about $20. Picky where I go to eat nowadays and one bad experience can ruin it. So far the quality has been good here and hope they can keep quality consistent. Have not eaten inside just yet will update my dining experience maybe in the future.

Don't be fooled by the outward appearance of this drive through/fast food place. Inside is magic, trust me. My sibling used to live in San Diego and I finally tried them this weekend, and now wish there was one closer to me. Please ignore the horrible photo but this was just one fish taco. There was so much fish and perfectly cooked, plus the sauce and cabbage/pico was incredible. Additional shout out to the Jamaica and my friends carne asada fries.

I enjoyed a good breakfast burrito with bacon, eggs, potatoes, cheese, and beans for about $10 and some change with tax. The burrito was well priced for its size. The burrito came well filled with all the ingredients. The bacon was tasty, and the eggs were well scrambles. I like that they did not overdo it with the beans, and the potatoes were not overly sized. Their hot sauces were very good. I had the bright orange one, which was great, and the green one, which was good, too. This location offers a drive thru and a lot of inside seating and some outside, too. The service at the counter was very good.

I've been eating at Vallarta for years and while I'm a different person now than I was when I first had Vallarta 10+ years ago, I can tell you that the flavors and my feelings towards it have remained the same. If anything, they have grown because I don't live near it and don't eat it as often. Vallarta Express has multiple locations across the San Diego area and like the other ones, this location in Mira Mesa is also open 24/7. Since I don't come here as much now, when I do I always get the same thing: christian fries. If you don't know, christian fries are basically carne asada fries but with bacon and fried eggs on top. Sometimes I'll get a burrito too but the christian fries are my ole reliable. It has a certain flavor that I just can't explain but I keep gravitating toward it. It has all the toppings: carne asada, cheese, guacamole, sour cream, bacon, and eggs. On top of that, I'm obsessed with their red sauce and drench it on every bite. Prices have gone up over the years but that doesn't stop me from coming back again and again. Other people have their opinions on what their favorite carne asada fries spot is and this one is mine. I've always dubbed this place as "my last meal on Earth" and unless something drastic changes, it will remain that way.
